Why did Jurgen Prochnow take this job?

Even after years of hearing about how terrible Uwe Boll is, after finally seeing this travesty with my own eyes, I am stunned by just HOW bad it was. Why in the world did a talented actor agree to make this rubbish?

The literal only explanation I can fathom is that Prochnow was specifically in the mood to make a B-film. Somehow, against all odds, he finds a note to stick with that makes his character work. He is the only thing that works in the entire film, striking an odd balance between Quint from Jaws and tongue in cheek mugging for the audience about what a terrible film he is making.

That or he lost a bet in a game with other character actors like himself where the loser must find the worst script and project they possibly can and attempt to make their role in it work.

From my understanding, the original script was good. During production, though, it went through tons of cutting and alterations by Boll.

He (Prochnow) probably needed the $$$.

Money and a trunk full of cigars.

He also did movies like See Arnold Run and Beerfest...

MONEY, BABEH.

Actors appear in bad movies for the same reason they make good ones. The money, brah.
