or I don't know what. For their carnival they would have had to spend a fortune on food, the zoo, ponies, bouncy castle, and Cheap Trick. What all of that would cost they would have had more than enough to fund the daycare center.
shareMy sister works at a preschool, they do something similar every year to raise money, the parents have a lot of money apparently and donate thousands. The people in this movie look like they are supposed to be coming from money, the rates that center was charging I'm sure are more than my rent.
BTW my sister's preschool has a "tuition" of like $1500/month/kid. I think that's insane what people pay for private school. College rates!
I guess it depends on the area, but in my city (cost of living is high, but the average income is proportional)home daycare centers/ preschool owners don't make much above their expense costs. In the movie they said that they didn't have much left over after paying the bills each month. Do preschools and other organizations get business loans for this kind of thing? If they don't make enough from the fundraiser, as happened in the movie, what happens to the organization? (Curious b/c my old Girl Scout troop wanted to do this, but we were lost on how to go through the process and they moved on before we could)
