The desk clerk...
In New York City (especially Manhattan) there's a pizzeria on almost every block, so why did she order from one that was 42 blocks away?
More so, how could she expect 8 deep dish pizzas to be made AND delivered in under 29 minutes (taking into account prep time + distance + NY traffic) from when she made the order!?
On a recent re-watch, my theory is that she knew a late delivery would be unavoidable and wanted to take advantage of this. After all, if the pizza's late she doesn't have to pay for it AND her company would likely be the ones giving her cash to pay upfront, which doesn't end up happening so she ends up keeping the money. Make sense?
