open range vs tombstone post 2

This i a continued thread from which i read. U guys all agreed that open range is better but, tombstone is a true story. LOL!!!!! Tombstone is almost totally fiction, the only point in tombstone which relates to truth is the fight outside the barber shop with wiet, virgil, morg and doc. Even that wasnt done right as doc holiday was reported to shoot the shotgun at ike clanton as he ran through the barber shop. So tombstone is almost totally fiction.

I like Open Range better, there is no doubt.

However, I have to agree with Windy City regarding TS being fiction. That is a complete falsehood. I have said bad things about TS, some tongue in cheek others genuine. That being said, TS is easily in the Top 2 Earp movies to get the REAL story as accurately as possible and still make a decent movie.

TS is FAR from fiction.

Any Earp authority knows that Fantastic Sam's wasn't even in Arizona in the 1880's. It had to be Super Cuts!

now reading more of your posts i can see you know NOTHING of film .

reply

I don't think I would be putting Gibson in that company, considering that the only thing he's known for is an anti-Semitic snuff film with a 15 minute plot padded out for 2 hours.

reply

i don't get it ,are you implying open range isn't well made? if so it would prove you know nothing about movie making .open range is a well made movie ,more so by far than tombstone. although tombstone is more of a "fun" movie ..its also well made ,just not as much so as open range . that beeing said just cuz its not as fun a stombstone dose not mean its well made and should not be confused with crapy film making by uwe boll. i take it if thats your opinon you don't even know why uwe bol is a crapy film maker and just use his name cuz you see it here on IMDB posts

Actually, I really liked Tombstone and LOVED Open Range.

reply

I agree with rouge719. Liked Tombstone but love Open Range.. That settles it for me. :)

Why is anyone trying to compare these movies? TS is crap. It tells about WE in a corny way. So what if it has action. I like a movie that tells a story in its own time...leisurely if it has to be that way. But to compare OR with TS is ludicrous. AND anything KC is in is better.

Yes indeed ike clanton ran through a barber shop when doc holiday shot the shotgun at him. Read up on your history my son.

Ike Clanton ran through Fly's photography studio. Never a barbershop. You have to stop relying on the public school system these days to teach accurate history.

I liked "Tombstone" a lot when I first saw it, but subsequent viewings have made me wonder why. "Open Range", on the other hand, seems to get better every time I see it.

I know this is an old post but these are 2 of my favorite movies; you do know that most westerns today are based on the stores wyatt earp told when he lived in hollywood and when he died movies stars carried his casket
