One of my favorite Westerns

Great story, great characters, great acting! What many don't notice in Westerns, is how well the actors can seat a horse. Duvall and Costner are both great horseman! Also like to point out how realistic the gunfights are along with the stunts! As usual, Stormin' Norm did an amazing job as coordinator!

"Open Range" is a great western, and the gunfight was terrific. That being said, at one point Charley fires his six-shot revolver at least fifteen times without reloading. Gunshot victims fly through the air after being hit, which does not really happen. It doesn't matter, though. It was very dramatic and entertaining.
