Did Jennifer Connolly actually jump onto the nails?

I have seen pictures of her wearing a bandage on her foot, did she really cut herself?

I don't know if she punctured herself for real, but I cringed and turned my head away when she landed on the nails!

The reason I ask is that I have seen her with bandages on off camera. They could have been in preparation for her next scene, or they could have been for real.

I think getting a nail all the way thru the foot is a serious accident that would need more than just a bandage.

That was something unrealistic to me in the movie.

yes, an Oscar winning actress jumped onto a nail for a scene where only her foot was visible.

yes the director knew beforehand and placed the camera there to get the scene as it happened.
