Why does he go to prison after a different cop shot the son of Ben Kingsley??
He didnt do anything wrong, that stupid kid pulled a gun on the officer in uniform, no wonder he got shot. Why does Lester go to prison for it?! That doesnt make any sense. He didnt do anything wrong in that situation.

He held the the family as hostages,in their own bathroom at gun point.
Also he made the family to go to city hall and sign the papers again at gun point, holding as hostage.
I guess that was enough to get a jail time.
Not to mention reckless endangerment, leading to involuntary manslaughter - nothing would've happened to the kid had Lester not started the chain of events leading to the kid getting shot. The kid had the gun in the 1st place because he was in fear for his life - Lester was unstable & to a kid, there was no way of knowing Lester wasn't gonna kill them.
