what breed is benji?

reply

I don't know what mix of breeds he is, or even is Joe Camp knows. He is a rescued mutt from a shelter, just like the original.

reply

Benji was adopted from the shelter in Gulfport Mississippi and was found on the streets, so no one knows for sure. She has some spaniel in her, as well as terrier, but the rest is a mystery.

reply

man benji is so flipping cute in this movie. i need to get a dog like that one.

reply

Technically, he is a she, and she's a mutt. (She looks almost just like a shaggier version of my dog, and he's cocker spaniel - bichon frise.)

reply

What bread is he? I think he's garlic bread...or french bread,I'm not sure...

He's a mixed breed. But, as far as pure breeds go, he looks more like a Tibetan terrier than anything else.

reply

I believe that Benji is a lopso apso shih tzu

reply

I don't believe there is any shih tzu in Benji, I have a shih tzu...and she's nothing like Benji.

To me it looks as if Benji's got some terrier in her.

reply

He looks just like our dog but with shorter legs.

reply

I read some where that he was a lhasa apso mix, and I think he is because I have a lhasa apso, and he looks like him.

reply

I think Benji is a Llasa Apso. Looks like just like mine did in the summertime. All blonde and the shagginess. Even down to the poor pitiful me look.

I KNOW that Benji in this particular film is a Lhasa Apso. Because I had a dog that looked EXACTLY like the breed in this movie. I know it is a Lhasa Apso.

reply

I think he is a Tibetan Terrier.

i just found out that my cousin's neighbor's dog is benji, his real name is nicky...he's really old now and has alzheimers.. :(

reply

um... sorry to say but benji is a girl not a boy just to let ya no BTW

My dog looks exactly like Benji and he is a Lhasa Apso mix.

I know the original dog, Higgins, was a mutt. At least according to Wiki, Frank Inn thought he was part miniature poodle, cocker spaniel, and schnauzer.
