Was this film ever in the theaters??
Maybe I was not looking so carefully, but when did this come out?! I had been looking forward to it and then it was completely past me! Why didn't this get a wide release? Anyone?

shareDid you ever get an answer to this question? I, too, was looking forward to seeing this and it never came out as far as I know. Is it even out on video?
shareYes its on dvd now, but why didnt it ever get a wide release? It played at like 50 screens at tops... It had a great cast, it should have done quite decently in the box office. I guess they are cashing in on the success of Passion Christ, with the dvd release now...

I just rented it this week. Wasn't that bad because I love Robert, and Mel Gibson was in it, also Adrian Brody. It was a tiny bit confusing watching reality mixed with his imagination and his memories mixed in with the whole lot running together.
shareListen to Keith Gordon's commentary...that should help you understand the whole thing.... and you need to watch it several times....it just gets better with each viewing...

For a movie to be good, you shouldn't have to watch the commentary or watch the movie several times. It should stand alone as a good film after a single viewing.
shareAccording to boxofficemojo.com (if you don't know this site, you've got to check it out for movie proceed tallys), it was released, but never played in more than 46 theaters nationwide. It only took in $337K, ouch! I only knew about it because Ebert and Roeper reviewed it.
sharei agree but sometimes you need to watch again of you sont understand or missed the clues. Take "The Usual Suspects" for instance. You watch it and are blown away by the ending. You watch it again and it is the same scenes but you look at the character and the actors portrayal of it totally differently as though it is another take of the same scene.
