RDJr singing...

Why wasn't his real voice used for his singing throughout the movie?

He has a much better voice than the guy who dubbed him over,
and the most incredible thing is that they decide to end the
movie with his rendition of In My Dreams... what the heck!

I'm not sure, but I thought his version of In My Dreams was awesome, but he doesn't have that "sound" that gene vincent had or big joe turner you know? He's got a great voice for what he sings, but I don't personally think it would have really added the film. I enjoyed the lip syncing scenes and thought they really added to the "falseness" of Dan Dark's reality, plus it made The Warbler seem that much cooler!

He sounded too much like one of those parody singers from South Park.

Everybody was lip synching in the entire movie.

It was a Dennis Potter trademark to use proper recordings and just have performers loosely mime to them to give it a rather comical and dreamlike feel.
