Is Love Actually a political film?

I heard an interesting theory that during Tony Blair’s reign of Britain the (pro-Blair) media churned out movies like this, Notting Hill etc which celebrate Britain and portray it in a positive light, full of hope and realisable dreams.

Prior to this, films like Trainspotting and The Full Monty were made, which were dank and depressing

Love Actually even features Hugh Grant as a Blair-like Prime Minister who stands up to a bullying and perverse ‘Southern’ American President, while celebrating Britain as a ‘small but great’ nation with a list of British heroes.

Richard Curtis is an outspoken Leftist, and Blair knew how to play the British public like a fiddle while stabbing them in the back. So while I think the theory is a stretch, it wouldn’t surprise me to learn that it is in fact true.
