I don't know why, but this is my favorite GTA game. The map is really nicely placed, so it's easy to remember. The missions are really easy in a way that they're not to frustrating. Plus, Tommy Vercetti is my favorite Character. He's really like a normal guy, plus, he's cool as hell. Does anyone agree with me?
BUT WHAT ABOUT GTA:SA!!!!! that game is awesome (i have all three III,VC and SA) i have to say the clothing system is awesome. car modding (not mods its a feature of the game) the character. i agree ray liotta is awesome (especially when i saw him in goodfellas) but there are different vibes to each game. III was like 2001-ish modern, basically. VC is scarface-ish and is about coke dealing. SA is about 1992-ish thing and the characters are all against drugs. depends on which setting you like. i like SA the best (for its diversity) and VC 2nd for its scarface-ishness and III, i hate i got the games in order and i have to say they had the crappiest, most frustrating missions (like that one where u had to kill coffee stands...
You know, I've played and completed both SA and VC about the same amount of times, but SA has never thrilled me quite as much. In having three huge, completely different cities and an overkill of characters, SA feels disjointed. The voice acting in SA doesn't bowl me over, neither does the music or the story. Most of the extra vehicles are dull too.
I like the stylized version of Miami presented by Vice City. It's very colourful, an abundance of cool sports cars reigns, the missions are interwoven nicely, the radio stations are near perfect '80s greatest hits' trips, the safe houses are full of character.
As much as San Andreas adds some features not found in Vice City (train missions, mod shops, driving schools etc) it feels bloated. As if the creators spread the 'GTA formula' too thin to increase the playing time. Vice City feels just right, and I fall for the Scarface-esque plot every time. Nothing like putting a Rhino tank in every safe house garage, just for fun...
SA was too expansive. it sounded good on paper but it was too much. i was getting lost way too much. mean while in vice city you could pick out a crack in the side walk run around for 12 hours and get right back to that spot no problem
The map in San Andreas was far more varied and there was far more to do outside of the missions. Whereas the map of Vice City was absolutely tiny, flat and dull.
