Hey, I love GTA 3 pretty much the same as San Andreas. I rate it over Vice City :)

yeah I like Vice City the best of all the GTA's(havent played V yet), I dont care anything for the character or the story in SA an the graphics in it for PS2 look worse to me than VC

Without gta 3 there wouldn't be a crap load of games that we ha e today. Gta 3 was a revelation, and modern people with Neanderthal brains like you fail to realize it

I've played all of the GTA's. V was great, but nothing can top Vice City.

Agreed. But I think we're all here because we miss the old GTA universe, whether it be III, VC or SA (*beep* the PSP games and later additions like LCS/VCS)

The voice actors and the soundtrack put vice city over the top, no developers go all out like this anymore.

GTA SA was technically the best gameplay wise, and GTA IV was the best graphics and engine wise...

But GTA Vice City was the best just for the atmosphere and setting.

The driving mechanics were pretty bad, but you didn't have to go on dates, and the calls from Roman could be ignored.

Besides which, I was talking about the Rage Engine with the Euphoria physics. It was the most satisfying gta game to run people over with a car. And the gunplay was much better than previous gta's.

By far the worst of the standalone GTA games IMO. Felt very rushed out to cash in on GTA3 which came out only one year prior. That's like another GTA game being released now after V.

I disagree, aloep: the reason "GTA: Vice City" could afford to be released so quickly is that Rockstar used a perfected version of the engine used for "GTA 3" (basically, they became more comfortable with the software), except they changed the location, added a talking playable character, more weapons, flying, property purchasing, changeable outfits, and more humor. The way I see it, Rockstar took what they had and improved on it, but I respect your point of view (rare to hear anyone who doesn't like original Vice City though).
Personally, I'm a big fan of all the 3D/HD "Grand Theft Auto" games.

In revamping the series to 3d open-world (from birds-eye): GTA 3
In terms of music: GTA: Vice City
In terms of storyline: GTA: San Andreas
In terms of details: GTAs 4 & 5 (same engine).

VC is still the best for me, that voice cast, soundtrack, setting, story and it oozed personality and fun, SA is also good and the last GTA i completed.
Ive no doubt the newer GTA games are amazing, but i find them too grinding, overwealming and serious for my liking.
