Question about which side you were for

Simple question, and hopefully will not offend anybody. But I have to ask:

Would any of you have been less likely to root for the plaintiff's side if the wife of the decedent had not been so smoking hot?

If Jacob Wood's widow had been some middle-aged, obese woman with thick glasses, instead of a young, scintillating redhead, would that have changed your view of the plaintiff?

reply

I wasn't really sure at first.
A part of me wanted one side to win while the other wanted the other side to win also.
I wasn't really interested in the wife.
Sure, gun violence is horrible and we create gun fear all the time, especially in the media, but we can't bring back the dead, so is there really use in suing a gun company? Just one? Out of how many hundreds of thousands, not to mention illegal trade, black market sales which would still manufacture and distribute guns to people who may or may not use them for evil!
You can't say that by suing one company, the violence will stop!
And whats more, the ratio of gun related deaths to disability was considerably lower. More people, it was suggested in the film, are disabled rather than killed from a gun related mishap. Guns easily and quickly fall into the hands of wrong doers; wether they be too young to understand or have an accident or have malicious intent.
I have my views on guns (I am aginst), but not everybody uses them for evil. So should everyone else suffer for the handful that use them for evil?
Her winning was nice, but it didn't bring back her husband.
Can money really repair the fabrications of loosing a loved one? To repair emotional distress? I can't really say I think so.
I was fence sitting until about 15 minutes from the end when I finally realised I was for the wife winning. Not really because of her case, but because of Marlee's instance.
That she was asking for something like a speck of the winnings the wife was aiming for, and using them repair a bankrupt town.
I guess that's why I was so for Marlee in the end.
I am glad they won!

Eh, I guess I should qualify my question.

To all the men out there. What say you?

reply

So, what?
Being female stops me from voicing my opinion?
Dude, you will be lucky if this was your only reply.
This board is dead!
Whatever!

Most of my posts get a paltry response. Why is that? Because I'm much more intelligent than most people on here. IMDB posters are drawn to a certain type of thread- threads titled "This movie was so overrated" or other balderdash.

What do you suggest? That I act like the sheeple?

reply

No, I am just saying, next time a female responds to one of your posts, don't respond as if her opinion is crap or unnecessary!
I responded to your post, regardless of the fact that you had intended that this be a male specific thread and failed to specify.
Why should my thoughts be disregarded!

Hey. No hard feelings, all right?

No, but a brilliant question though - everyone is in support of the plaintiff by default and the surefire way to sway this opinion is to make the plaintiff less visually appealing. The question confirms without doubt your self-assessed superior level of intelligence.

I almost came as a Shark actually, but then I realised that an Eagle was slightly better.
