this Movie Illustrates Why Guns Are Necessary

The first scene of this movie shows why gun control is stupid, and dangerous.

The opening scene shows a man on a killing spree with a gun, and people calling the police. Of course the police can't help fast enough, they're in a high rise with a killer mowing people down. As those of us who are NRA members say, "when seconds count, the police are only minutes away."

Now, one person with a gun a citizen with a ccw would have had a chance to stop this man with a well placed shot, or 10.

Could it have gone the other wa? Sure, i'm not saying guns are magic wands, but their chances would have been better.

A psycho with an ax to grind will get his hands on a gun, laws or no laws, disarming me is not the answer.

Look at the UK, handguns are BANNED nationwide, yet criminals still manage to get their hands on them, and if they don't, they simply cut each other on the streets over a soccer game.

Anyway, stupid movie with a stupid message.

Although I do agree with what you say about gun control, I think many people here ignored a part of the movie.
Dustin Hoffman was so sure that he would win this case because he had a witness that was going to testify about the gun company being aware end even promoting the sale of their guns in the black market. If that were true, they should be held liable.
So no, the movie didn't have a stupid message regarding the lawsuit against gun manufacturers. It still would have been better if they kept the book plot which was much better, even if I don't agree with suing tobacco companies when somebody dies for smoking
