The final scenes, not sure what to make of it

When Hoffman was walking by and saw Weisz with Cusack... I'm not sure what to make of the look they exchanged? Was Hoffman in on it from the start?? The look he gave them was as if they were good people, not bad people who had blackmailed him.

He understood they were working together to f#$# over Rankin Fitch and the gun company, and had really only used him as an unwitting shill to drive up the price and give Fitch an incentive to deal with them too.

If Fitch thought Marlee and Easter were working together to swing the verdict to the plaintiff, he would have blown the whistle on them and gotten the case thrown out. By giving Fitch incentive to deal with them, they made it impossible for him to turn them in to the cops.
