That scene between Hoffman and Hackman was awesome....

Not only because its great to see two old legends finally acting in a scene together, but because the dialogue written in that scene was really well made. It was a debate that really gets to the heart of what type of values Americans truly represent. There's Hackman playing the guy who must win at all costs and finds the whole justice system a real joke and the other guy who really believes in honor and justice.

I'm glad they managed to put that scene in there.

Dusty said it was just too old guys talking in a bathroom, but isn't that what acting is all about? Real moments within fiction, finding the truth inside the lie? The old boys were at the top of their considerable games.

I agree, that scene was eloquently written.

That suit ... and that awful Southern accent (reminds me of Tootsie without the wig).

Still, I agree it's one of the best scenes in the movie.

One of the BEST scenes in the film period. Hackman & Hoffman were awesome!

Agreed, the dialogue and acting in this scene was good, probably the only really riveting scene in the entire movie.

'2 old guys talking in a bathroom' would be a better title for the movie. also much more commercial.
