This is what happens when liberals can't debate with facts

The whole point was to get back at Fitch. Nick and Marlee manipulated things enough so that Fitch would pay the $15 million for the verdict he wanted. Then, the jury voted for the plaintiff, so Fitch lost the case. He lost in two ways. They were getting back at him because their town went bankrupt in an earlier case where Fitch represented the defendant when they were younger. They even pointing out that and all of the previous cases, the firearms companies won and that Vicksburg Firearms would most likely appeal and win...but "not with you" (Nick to Fitch).
They took him down personally.
He didn't mean the characters; he meant John Grisham and the filmmakers. He has a point: HERRERA turned into a cartoon during his rant, making it clear how unbiased the movie is.
shareUntil the last few lines though he delivered the counter message quite well. I do not think his personal meltdown changed that prior message.

Save your ostensible authority for someone stupid enough to buy into it. There are many loveable pets available for adoption at your local animal control center, for example.

Don't lump John Grisham in here. He's a liberal, but at least he wrote an intelligent book (which was about a the tobacco industry and not the firearms industry, a needless change to jazz up the movie that bites the filmmakers in the ass), with characters that aren't cartoons like Herrera. The movie was a lazy, poorly written cash grab that lives in its own little Hollywood fantasy world.
