voting

Lately, I've noticed a trend on imdb. People are beginning to vote 1 out of 10 on a movie that they haven't even seen, because they don't like the idea of it. Underworld is another example of this. I don't think it's possible for Denzel to be in a movie that can honestly be described as being that bad. That bad would be Going Overboard with Adam Sandler. I think that you should have to input the reason why you think a movie should get a certain rating, be reviewed, and posted if it seems to be legitimate rating.

I agree with you...Out of Time had an 8.3 rating on Wednesday and all of a sudden it went to 6.7 in less than 12 hours (those haters)...I think that it is highly improbable such voting is legitimate. I mean 15 to 21 people voted "1" in a space of 12 -15 hours, give me a break!!! That pattern was very different from earlier voters who gave it 7 to 10. I haven't seen the movie so I can't vote yet. Honesty is a virtue.

Here's an idea that'll never take off, but it sounded good in theory: Have a question about the plot when you go to vote. And have like 10 different answers available, and if they get it wrong, vote doesn't get stored... And they forever forfeit their vote for the movie in question.
