Question about Kill Clause?
Was it ever explained who that Caroline person was and why Cardoza was following her?

Caroline? don't you mean Anna? If I recall right, that was the name of the girl he was following. His interest in her is explained in a couple of episodes later, but if you're new to the show, I'm not sure if you want to be spoiled by now.

sharewell, then... He's following her because she's dating a pornographer and acccused black widower. Jessie was working on the case during his time to L.A. The guy obviously, got away with it, because Jessie was accused in the trial of planting evidence to frame him. The guy took revenge of Jessie by killing his wife, which drove him to become obsessed. Now, the guy and his new girlfriend (Anna) moved to Miami, which is the main reason he returned to the lab. He also tries to warn her what kind of man his boyfriend is, but she obviously doesn't listen.
