As many predicted, Matt James offered his “final rose” to Rachael Kirkconnell.
Since the filming of the finale, James and Kirkconnell have broken up.
James appeared heartbroken and upset when asked for his response to Kirkconnell’s apology about the offensive images. More on the emotional moment that left him speechless.
But the most striking moment came when he refused to play along with Acho’s request for the pair to embrace for a final time.
Kirkconnell was photographed attending an antebellum-themed party in 2018, which set in motion the current controversy involving the series.
Antebellum Party:
The word ”Antebellum’ is usually used to refer to the pre-Civil War Old South. To elaborate further, this was the period where slavery and plantations were common practices.
The ‘Antebellum Party’ is criticized because people think that anyone who takes part in it is celebrating the period where many suffered. It was one of the main reasons why Rachael received a backlash. Since that period is looked down upon and highly criticized, anyone who tends to celebrate it gets called out.
Old South Ball, which celebrates Southern plantation life. The ball was thrown by the fraternity Kappa Alpha, which is a historically racist fraternity. The frat has historical ties to the KKK and claims Robert E. Lee as its "spiritual founder." Many chapters hold an Old South Week each year, during which they dress in Confederate uniforms and parade around their college campus. Old South Week ends with the Old South Ball, which is an invite-only event. Rachael Kirkconnell snagged herself an invite during her senior year of college in 2018, and there are photos that allege she was there. One photo is a selfie in a pink antebellum dress with two friends, and the other is a group shot of all the women invitees in their ruffled, hoop-skirted dresses, sitting in the grass.

Old South was a formal party cancelled by Kappa Alpha Order's national board of directors, because of racial ties in 2016, and if Rachael attended this party in 2018 after it was nationally cancelled, she knew of the racial implications, and went anyways. even if she is not racist, she supported a racist organization/event....which indirectly supports racism.

Seems a lot of racist people come from there.
