Gay Bachelor??

Could this ever happen or will it lose viewers? Seems close-minded but still, putting the question out there in the universe.

I just don't know how they'd stop all the contestants from hooking up with each other.

Considering the target audience, I think not. It just wouldn't have a broad enough appeal among a wider audience. Is that just? No. Is it reality? Yes. Though, really, it's not such a bad thing. Considering how trashy the show is it's best to let the heteros keep it for themselves.

Actually, there is going to be a Gay Bachelor on the new show Finding Prince Charming premiering on LOGO Thursday, Sept. 8 at 9:00pm

Since I've been wanting to see one for years now, I just might check it out! ;)

reply

Ironically, the target audience includes a lot of gay men.

'Hey guys, Chris Harrison here. I know there's 26 of you and all of you are single and probably most of you find at least one person appealing here....but please, you are only allowed to kiss the lead, ok?'

I wouldn't watch it. I don't care who you date, I'm not a 'homophobe', but I watch the show to see the drama with the women, and the cat fights. I'm a woman and I know how women are, especially when a man is involved. I don't care for The Bachelorette because a bunch of men competing for a women just isn't the same to me.

Okay, I understand... It's a personal preference in terms of entertainment viewing.

As a gay man, I feel like it would be a lot of contestants hooking up with one another. Like if I was one of the contestants, I wouldn't expect to win and would just try to find a man amongst the other contestants who also probably isn't going to get picked.

reply

*ding ding ding ding* we have a winner. The format of the Bachelor/ette would never work with gay and lesbian contestants. Heck didn't a couple ladies try to hook up one year? I do think a version of Bachelor/ette in Paradise would work though and I be fine seeing that.

LOGO had finding prince charming.....it was bad...boring...guys (yes even gay ones) handle conflict so differently

It seems a premise destined to fail. If you're one of the contestants, why wait around for a date every few episodes with "The Bachelor" when there are 25 other gay studs in the house with you? I imagine a lot of them would be hooking up together and forget about the official bachelor.
