Nanny vs Personal Assistant

Let me first preface this by saying that I'm no Corinne fan (as I believe most here are not), but this whole nanny business is a bit absurd. Now, I'm not saying that the typical 24 yr old has a personal assistant. Though ppeaking of, I wonder what company Corinne runs, but regardless, I'd be willing to bet that it's a family business, as very few 24 yr olds - even those who possess MBAs from Harvard/Wharton, etc., reach the executive level she claims to be at. But it is not unusual for celebrities and/or other very wealthy people to have personal assistants who do EVERYTHING for them, including laundry, food/clothes shopping, cooking etc.

And although Corine does come across as an airhead, she's certainly not stupid, so why in the world would she use the term "Nanny," when most everyone is familiar with what a personal assistant is? She still might come across as bratty and entitled, but at least there wouldn't be that 'weirdness' factor of a 24 yr old having a nanny. So I wonder if the writers/producers are requiring her to use that terminology...

She works for her father's business in sales. They apply some kind of liquid to garage surfaces. Their sales average $500,000 a year. Her LinkedIn profile show her occupation as model/actress. Someone serious in the work force would list their occupation as Account Exec, VP or whatever she calls yourself. Why would a grown woman be proud of having a "nanny" and it makes her look dumb. She's probably the family housekeeper who has been with them forever. Would be nice if she refered to her as an equal.

She's not a personal assistant. We see the "nanny" in the first episode when Corrine was introduced and she was dressed as a housekeeper or maid. She was in very casual clothing. There was actually another woman that she told to go get her "Nanny" who looked more like the assistant.

I doubt a personal assistant would make a twenty four year old woman's bed. Corrine needs cold hard dose of reality, she's basically an overgrown baby.

Actually, you'd be surprised what some of these personal assistants do. I have an acquaintance from college who moved out to LA after graduation, and she knew someone who was a personal asst to someone extremely famous (because of gag orders, etc that she was required to sign, she couldn't tell anyone who the celebrity was), but I remember my friend telling me that not only she would lay 3-4 different outfits for this particular celeb to choose from (for a day), but she had to be THERE when the celeb tried them on and choose, because God-forbid she'd have to hang the 'rejects' back up herself! Obviously, there are celebs who are WAY more down-to-earth than that, but the tradition goes way back to the time of 'man servents' (eg, Winston Churchill had one who drew his bath every night and literally dressed him in the morning). Though somehow it doesn't annoy me when it comes to someone like Churchill, since he and FDR basically saved the world from a complete Japanese or German takeover - I say let the guy relax in any way he needed to!

Yes I've seen some of those shows where the personal assistant does almost everything for them except wipe their ass!

my sister in law has a sister in law in Malibu who has a ""Ladysitter" pretty much a cross between a lady in waiting and a babysitter... I think her official title is House Manager

no! It was her CHILDHOOD NANNY!!!! Who still works for her.
