It's more than that though. Nick knows how this show works. He's a pro at this point. He's always been a bit of a troll on each season he's been on. The producers might be telling him to keep Corrine, but I don't think he minds at all. Nick has always gravitated towards drama. Always.

I actually think Rachel and Jasmine grew into their looks. I find Rachel more attractive the more we see of her because you can tell she's intelligent and has a good personality. Josephine has nothing going for her. Jasmine is funny. I am surprised by some of his picks though. He has sent some of the more attractive girls home.
