And I thought Batman + Robin was bad...

I mean both movies are bad, but this one is WAY worse than Batman & Robin. Compared to this, Batman & Robin is more entertaining than this piece of trash. The script was written like nothing, but an over the top almost PG-13 'Cat in the Hat'. I mean with the mild language, and the way the pinata scene was shot where Steven Anthony Lawrence hit the cat in the private area with the baseball bat, when they thought the real cat was the pinata full of candy... Didn't that seem insulting? I remember a mother took both her 5 & 6 year old children out as soon as the cat chopped his tail off in the kitchen, when baking. Now Batman & Robin was more of a comedy with the insulting jokes, and silly story, but... When you think of it as a kids movie for 8 or 9 year old, it seems suitable. On the other hand, for all the older teens and adults who are big "DARK" Batman fans, it's just ruined. The Cat in the Hat, was just ruined for young audiences, and is a complete insult to the classic cat stories. Anyone agree?

I see what you mean, but I disagree. Batman & Robin is hated by most Batman fans because it’s aimed much more for kids than adults. Even though there are things I would change about it, I don’t consider it “trash” and I enjoy it more than the ultra gritty comic book adaptations. If you want to watch a real piece of comic book trash I suggest ‘The Spirit’.

The Cat in the Hat has the opposite problem with fans because it’s considered to be too raunchy for kids. That doesn’t mean it’s insulting. It’s a PG (or whatever rating the US has) for a reason. A parent taking children out of the cinema is seriously uptight. It’s not Scarface or Cannibal Ferox, it’s not going to mentally scar them! I first watched this when I was 11 or 12 I think and loved it. That should be the target audience in my opinion. Older kids and adults that read the book when they were younger. As for the story, I think it’s very well done for the material they had to work with. An exact adaption of the original book would never work.

I mean, I thought the opening where Conrad and Sally were introduced, I thought that was pretty well planned. I mean, it gave excellent detail on both of the characters. Conrad, who is a bit of a trouble maker, who tries to have fun that gets you in trouble. Then, we have Sally who is a goody-too-shoes (Not sure if I spelled that right), and tries to be perfect, and has no desire to have fun in the ways Conrad does. As soon as the Cat comes into the picture, everything just rolled downhill. I mean, he introduces different ways to the bored children on how to have fun, but then the movie just had a bunch of unoriginal jokes, and the story was just lost. But I do admit that the moral of the story was well thought of. Even though this was never mentioned really, but I think the Cat tried to teach the kids a lesson that there are times to play, and times not to. But this movie is just overall bad.

I like the jokes. I think you thought about it more than me. I like to watch it with a few beers and laugh.

"Batman & Robin" resulted in a somewhat good game on a bad video game system ("Tiger Game.com").

Cat in the Hat resulting is a somewhat bad game on a good video game system ("Gameboy Advance").

"Cat in the Hat" has Paris Hilton in a tiny bit part. "Batman & Robin" doesn't.

Therefore, "Batman & Robin" WINS this contest.
