Ideas that could've made this better.

Okay, for anyone who has any ideas that could've made this movie a whole lot better, please submit now.

Here are some ideas of mine:

1) Why the writers of "Seinfeld?" This movie originally came from a book that was written specifically for children, if you ask me they should've gotten someone more experienced with writing movies for kids and adults. Maybe someone like Caroline Thompson (Edward Scissorhands) or, better yet, John August who wrote the script for Tim Burton's Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

2) Personally I loved the actors, but I think either Jim Carrey or Robin Williams would've been better as the Cat, Mikey just didn't seem to give anything special to the Cat in this one.

3) Who decided to give Bo Welch the job of directing the movie? Bo Welch is a production designer, a very good one to boot, but I don't think he was cut out to be a director. Maybe this could've gone to someone with a little more experience like Tim Burton or Chris Columbus or even Mr. Ivan Reitman.

Well those are the only suggestions I can give, if anyone else has a suggestion, speak now or forever hold your piece.

Perhaps being more faithful to the book. Now I understand that The Cat in the Hat is like, 20 pages long, with an average of maybe 10 words on a page. Obviously, if you're going to make a movie out of it, you'll need to add in a few things. The same way they did with The Grinch. Sure, they added things in that aren't in the children's book, but it still more or less had the same plot. The only similarity I can find between the movie and the book is that there is a cat, and he is in fact wearing a hat. The mother is out, and he isn't supposed to be there. But other than that, there's almost nothing that makes it relevant to the original story.

Ideas that could've made this better...

Um... Destroying all copies of the film before it hit the theaters?

How about...Not making it at all?

Simple. More lines that are actually funny, and none of the crude and stupid "adult" humor.

No toilet jokes or disgusting out of place stuff. Oh and if they wanted to stretch the story, they should have combined it with "The Cat in the Hat Comes Back" with a Grinch cameo!

Basically follow the book by having the cat walk in, cause chaos, (Mainly everything outside of the house was unneeded) and then cause the house to be CG'd into wacky-ness and then have the cat leave and come back to fix everything.

Maybe have Alec Baldwin as the Cat in the Hat? Oh and have a dance section like in the film but with some PG Celebrity instead of Paris Hilton. And have rhymes and remove all profanity and toilet humor from the film.

Basically my idea would have been more faithful, cost less, and been more appropriate.
