heard it was actually good... was it?

my sister watched this on an airplane and said it was actually hilarious and inspiring.

now I love Mike Myers in the context of Wayne's World and Saturday Night Live, but everything else I've seen him in has been incredibly painful to watch, with perhaps the exception of the first Austin Powers movie.

so should I watch it? should I risk it? or will it ruin Wayne Campbell and Philip and Simon forever?

This movie was funny and people just don't like it cuz it's kid humor.

The movie made me want to hit things. I found it awful and a disgrace to the book. Every copy in the world should be burned.

This film was a disgrace not only to Dr. Seuss, but to humanity in general. They should drop all copies of this putrid film into the darkest depths of the deepest ocean, so that no one on land or sea will be subjected to its foul stench ever again.

The "humor" isn't even geared to kids, as many of the jokes are meant for the ears of adults. This is a failed movie in every way, and I am pleased to see that the fine voters of the imdb have acted correctly by punishing this blazing pile of garbage with a terrible score, although I would prefer to see it in the bottom 100.

In summary, this movie sucks. 1/10

It was awful.

The only people who like it at all are people who don't care at all for the original Seuss works and are very very young.

I don't know why they took a character beloved by those who are now adults and bastardized it to appeal to people who have never heard of The Cat in the Hat. What's the point in using this character at all?

Sound familiar?

Quite possibly one of the worst movies I've ever seen.

I liked it. the humour is mostly adult innuendos

Yeah I guess, but as a stand-alone movie, and if it isn't compared to the book then it's fun

I am currently watching it on TBS. It is awful: Mike Meyer is miscast, the script is awful, the background and scenery is awful. The original animated is so much better. Skip the movie made in 2003 and go to the local library and check out the pure form found in the animated movie.

I'm also watching it on TBS. This is one of the worst movies I've seen since The Love Guru... I'm changing the channel. I actually cannot take this anymore.

Currently watching it on TBS, wondering why ppl think it is this bad. What is so bad about it??? I gave it a 6/10.

The last time I saw this movie i was like 7 years old and didn't get much of the humor. A few weeks ago, I watched it on TBS. Now I'm 14 and it was hilarious in my opinion. The sets were really cool looking too. People just react so negatively to it because of the mature humor, double entendres, and what not.

reply

It's not the best movie in the world, but I don't think its all bad when you view it as a parody.
