everyone who thought Edward Burns was just OK in this movie must have not even paid attention to it. This is by far his best movie he has ever done. To me these are the kinds of roles he should be in more. Anyone else agree with me?
i think that edward burns is a very underated actor. i LOVE saving private ryan, liked 15 minutes. i dont know if he could carry a film, but he is great if he is added as side character.
I agree. Ed Burns is exactly "average". I'd rather prefer Clooney or Kiefer Sutherland, may be Colin Farell or even ben Affleck but Burns is not the man for Vigg character.
i definitely agree......george clooney ala oceans eleven would have made this movie ten times cooler than it was. Ed Burns just came across as an arrogant cock during the whole movie i thought
In this movie, Burns acted as a confidence man in his perfect con plot. I think.... everything is going so well that I can't believe it could happen in real life >"<
But I must admit that Burns has nice looking and great body! He has only one expression , that is kool ... I think, he could only play kool roles that are not required emotional tears or something. Like... Keanu Reeves... but Burns smiles more.
As to me, Burns is sexy cute handsome guy, either in action movie or love story, his acting is ok... we just love seeing him smiling and kissing...>.<
The reason i really started this thread was to see how many people understood me. I said it was HIS best role ever, not if it would've been better by anyone else. His career has mostly had him as second to someone. Ed Burns can really go far after a role like this because it showed that he has a lot more talent than most people think AND it shows he can be a leading actor. Before this, his career had not taken off and that Angelina Jolie movie he was in bombed so badly i couldn't stand it. I'm glad he accepted a role like this because it gives him a chance to become a huge star and I really hope his career will take off soon.
IMHO people are way too critical of Ed Burns. They critize his writing, his directing, and his acting. C'mon people he's young!! Give him time!! How many 36 yr. olds have written, directed and starred in film?? He is gaining experience. Most directors take awhile to achieve success. (Coen bros. are an exception to the rule) but then again do most directors act as well as write ??
