Dustin Hoffman and Tom Lister

This is really only if you've seen this movie, it's not a spoiler though.
At the scene twords the end when Dustin Hoffman is sitting in the minivan, and tom lister (yeah, zeus) tells him he's going to go get something for him, Dustin Hoffman says "Not the brightest fellow.." as he leaves. Now, there's no indication in the movie that Tom's character is actually that stupid, he seems mostly pretty polite, and nothing he says or does points to him being stupid. Now, does anyone else think Dustin Hoffman might actually be saying that about Tom Lister, and not the character? hehe, kinda mean.. (shrug)

Naw man basically i think that he says it because sometimes Harlin (Tom Lister) just doesnt listen to him. Like for example in the beginning when he tells King that people are here and asks who he should bring in, King says whoever. Again Harlin asks which and King says whatever. Harlin AGAIN asks if he should bring in the girls, the brothers, or Jake. Also, in the scene u bring up, when Harlin gets out King asks a couple of times if this is the place apparently knowing that he was going to get the money. Harlin basically just walks away not answering King, so I think that Dustin said what he said because he doesn't listen to King at all, so in my mind hes talkin bout the character.

Hopefully i explained this well:-D

Also, you should know that Hoffman is famous for improvising during films. Which I think is genius most of the time.

Watch "Rain Man". That scene where he presses his head up against Tom Cruises head was improvised and you can see Cruise's reaction when he does it. It was a perfect touch.

You should also know Hoffman is a master. Pure and simple.
