Peculiar performance. At times I thought he was phoning it in - I mean I found myself watching Raymond Babbitt, or even Tootsie sometimes. But then there were times where, despite having to force the issue slightly, he was genuinely extremely scary.

I'd love to see him carry a film in a role such as this - maybe an Elmore Leonard adaptation? Could be really good

You can see some "Rainman" going on if you listen really carefully to couple of lines and especially when he goes ow-ow, when he is walking on his feet after massage

Raymond Babbitt is Hoffman's character in Rainman. So, er, yes I agree!

I forget whether it was Ebert or Roeper (sp?) but one of them said Dustin Hoffman should at least be nominated for an Oscar.
