Miss Pearce
She's one of my favorite characters. Smart, politically astute, and always tries to be on the right side when most of the situations she's involved in are "grey" to say the least.

shareAgreed! But I think her death is a bit out of her generally "grey" character.
shareI dont think so. A betrayal, of her personal ethics, and worse a sacrifice of one of "her girls", not through a mistake, but deliberately, for someones personal aggrandizement.

Hilda was betrayed. She wasn't sending "her" girls to their deaths intentionally, what would be the point? I could be extremely wrong about this but I think Hilda's feelings towards Sophie was a bit stronger than "one of her girls". However, she kept herself in check. Do you think she would have sent her in knowing the outcome? No. that went for the other 8 as well. What good would they have been dead?
