Terrible Waste of Time

IMDB is normally spot-on with ratings for movies - with little error. Saying 'Identity' deserves a 7.1 is like saying 'Baby Geniuses' was a *beep* masterpiece. The film started out interestingly, and then went to *beep* towards the final half. But by then, it was too late. I had already sunk an hour into the movie and I wasn't about to start a new one. The ending was hilariously bad. In fact, this movie should have been marketed as a comedy. The last 10 minutes made me cringe with embarrassment for having suggested it for movie night. Poorly directed, poorly written. John Cusack is hot as hell and I curse this movie for making me hate him.

How is the website at fault? It's the viewers and users of the site who vote things up/down. Obviously a lot of people disagree with you ;)

When I cite "IMDB" in my original post, I am wholly referring to the mechanism in which IMDB ratings are compiled (ratings from individuals). Of course executives at IMDB are not the ones rating the actual movies. When I said that IMDB was usually on par with my personal opinion of movies, the person/people reviewing movies on this site is irrelevant, because the actual rating is the only thing we all care about. Obviously a lot of people do disagree with me on this movie, I was simply stating that with most movies, that is not the case. Once again, this movie blows.................. ;)

You lost all credibility when you said IMDB ratings are normally reliable.

Movies - being art - are lately subjective in terms of their quality. Though you'll probably find your opinion (disliking it so much) is in the minority.

I'm with you on this one. Terrible movie! I thought it was gonna be good since it had a 7 something rating here and in rottentomatoes it had like a 63%. My lord, I want my 1h30min back!!!!!
