far cry, half-life, GTAIII/VC(can be considered shooters i guess), halo, hitman, max payne 1, max payne 2, deus x, splinter cell 1/2(close enough) (soon to be half-life 2, halo 2)all had or will have decent stories just to name a few.

Er, how many of them are actually 'first person shooters'? Hitman, Max Payne, Splinter Cell, GTA - none of these are first person shooters, and Dues Ex is more of a first person adventure game.
Anyway, that geeky rant over, the original thread was about the title, and as someone above has pointed out, it's based on a series of Gameboy Advance games called Ecks vs Sever - so changing the name would have been pointless (rather like making the film in the first place).

i liked this movie because i read all these reviews saying it was crap n it wasnt as bad as i thought it was, who knows if everyone hyped about and it got as much coverage as lotr and matrix it as much as people did with the matrix and lord of the rings it might be considered good.( personally i think matrix is overrated and lotr didnt really interest me but thats just my opinion n i wouldnt be rude to someone cuz they liked it either so i dont expect it back cuz i like this movie) oh and by the way ".(and hes ugly too)"arnt you being abit pityful here, i mean why dont you post a picture of yourself and we can all have ago and point out your bad features. and as for your arguement about the name i dont think "ecks and sever both team up and vs someone else" is a good name as a alturnative (im being sarcastic)its not really fair to judge the movie by the name. thats like saying you cant called resident evil resident evil because the residents were only evil once they died and came back (which wasnt thru the entire movie either). altho i did enjoy this movie the middle half was abit boring and the plot could use some work on it but it wasnt that bad. sorry if im seeming rude by the way im just sick of going onto every message board and reading how bad it is and how its "the worse movie EVER" when its not really called for. if your gona diss a movie give it a real reason to not like it rather than oh hes ugly lets not like this movie.

WOW..... you are one of the dumbest people i've ever come acrossed in the forums here.
what you just said is that you like the idea of calling the movie 'ecks and sever both team up and vs someone else'. i know thats not what you meant, but that IS what you said. Also, "...is a good name as a alturnative" should be "...is a good name as an alternative" .. did you flunk out of school or something?
here are some more, for your own personal education:
"altho" should be "although"
"pityful" should be "pitiful"
"n" should be "and"
"arguement" should be "argument"
also the "resident" in "resident evil" has nothing to do with THE RESIDENTS you f ucking imbecile.. it just means that the evil is here and very real. christ. i hope english wasn't your first language.
as far as how terrible this movie is, just look at the box office numbers. there can be a little leeway in those, but when a movie costs 90 million dollars and only returns 20 million WORLDWIDE, thats a f ucking terrible movie. sorry.. even the few people that watched this movie hated it. you're in a very very small fan club here.
again, you are very very very dumb and i hope you choke on your own tongue. if not, you may be responsible for the deaths of many good and decently smart people

God dammit you f ucking morons. It is not based GBA games. The GBA games were based a script for the movie. The movie was supposed to be badass and produced a lot earlier than it was. Also, Max Pay and Hitman ARE INDEED first person shooters as you can switch to first person mode in either of them. Also, the *beep* that said Halo has a god story, should be shot. It was all about explosions and action. That game is so god damn overrated. It was 5 years behind a hundred other games in graphics and gameplay. Bungie threw it together very quickly in order to have some releases for the XBOX.... They've since decided to make Halo 2 a real game.

ok ill reword what i said, the reason i liked this movie was because it was mindless action. if you think to hard about a movie you can find holes in it, of course there are plot holes in this (pretty much any movie can have them) when i read that it was a crappy movie i was expecting bad fights and a stupid plot and i got one of them (bad plot) which was still bareable for me. the fight scene was what i was really after n i enjoyed them

From imdb trivia for Ballistic: Ecks vs. Sever: The 2001 Game Boy Advance game "Ecks vs. Sever" was actually based on an early script draft for this film and not the other way around. The game's producers later made a sequel to that game that was based on the finished version of the movie.
