shareI am just finished reading that list.
Whadda you do for a living, sell shoes? Cooka-yayah-o!
I think dubbing this worst film of the decade is a little bit rough. I mean, it's pretty average but there are so many worse films in the top 100 than just - Pluto Nash, Son of the Mask and especially Rollerball are three of the worst excuses for entertainment and would be more worthy recipients of the #1 spot. And then there's equally appalling films like Tomcats that weren't even on the list at all!
And Amber Sweet is addicted to the knife ...
I second your nomination of Son of the Mask
shareseriously...I could easily name 100 WAY WORSE films than 'Ballistic: Ecks vs. Sever'.....Get real "RottenTomatoes/readers"!!!
shareI'm sorry, but in a "worst" list which puts "Gigli" (which I haven't seen, thank god) at only #99, and "Date Movie" (which I have seen, and can't UN-see) at only 77, I can't take the rest of the list seriously in any way.
Those two movies alone should have been in the top ten. Add in "Epic Movie", "Disaster Movie", and anything by Uwe Boll to round out the top 10.
Ballistic may not have been a fantastic movie story-wise, but I still enjoyed it as a straight-up action flick, and saying it's worse than anything done by Uwe Boll is pure heresy.

If it's tourist season, why can't we shoot them?
Gigli was 77, not 99. And all the Date, Epic, Disaster, Meet the Spartans crap is all throughout that list, as well as just about every single Uwe Boll film out there.
But none of those really belong in the top 10, outside of maybe one Uwe Boll film like Alone In The Dark.
For one, Gigli was a film that was ripped apart at it's time not just because the film wasn't any good, but the craze surrounding then 'Bennifer' - nobody cares about that anymore, it was just the cool thing to say it was the worst film ever band jump on the bandwagon of hate. If you thought it was actually in the top 10 without even seeing it you are crazy.
All those comedies are bad, agreed, but they were made for a retarded audience who continues to go out and see them - so believe it or not, there are people out there that actually just like those movies - which is just about as shocking to me as anyone who finds Larry The Cable Guy funny.
Uwe Boll. We need this dude to keep making movies. Guys like him are the reason for things like MST3K and Rifftracks, they are so awful that we all need to see everyone of them - but chances are you didn't think any of them were going to be good and you watch them just to laugh and crack jokes at how bad they are through and through.
But a movie like Ballistic completely belongs in the top 10 all the way. It's bad in every conceivable way. It's so bad it's far, far below the "so bad it's good" bar. For the people that it was made for that went out and saw it, they hated it. It gives me a headache just thinking about it. There's nothing about it that has any redeeming qualities whatsoever and I can't believe anyone in their right mind would defend any part of it at all. Even as a straight up action flick it's awful - it has a chase scene where no one goes above 30mph for crying out loud! It's terrible!
While it might not be the worst film out there, I think I can take this list a lot more seriously than someone that argues a bunch of films he hasn't even seen belong on the top 10. Just saying, at least they can back up their list with thousands of reviews unlike you.
First off, take another look, Gigli was 99, Date Movie was 77.
And while I didn't see Gigli, I did see all the other movies I mentioned by name, as well as several Uwe Boll films. I didn't see Meet the Spartans, but since I have seen Date, Epic, and Disaster Movies, I figured I'd finally learn from the past and avoid it, however I didn't mention it for the list. The first three, and Uwe Boll's movies, however, most certainly DO belong in the top ten.
I don't go by reviews of anonymous critics on the web, I go by reviews of people I know who've seen a movie, and when family and friends who've seen it say a movie is bad (not dirty, not disgusting, not too violent, just plain bad) I tend to believe them. If I went by online reviews, such as yours, I would never have seen such movies as Hudson Hawk, which is before the net I know, but still critically panned and one of my favourite movies.
And while you're mentioning "bandwagons", how about the one you appear to be on yourself regarding Ballistic. Sure it may have thousands of bad reviews, but I'd be willing to bet a lot of those are bandwagon hoppers who heard the movie sucked so they rated it down without ever seeing it themselves.
And lastly, I'm not a website, I don't RUN a website, I have my own preferences, so exactly why do I need thousands of reviews to back up my personal opinions? That comment was ridiculous, following a ridiculous assumption that I hadn't seen ANY of the movies I mentioned.
Backup your own arguments with logic and facts before you go jamming your foot in your mouth again.

I don't know why School for Scoundrels isn't on the list.

How can you be so sure that those movies most certainly DO belong in the top ten if you haven't even seen all the movies on that list?
And who really cares what you or your friends think about that and that movie?
And why are you writing crap like this on the forums?
And why in hell am I wasting time on you...
Hey selfish-7,it's a legitimate topic. Does one have to see all the crapfest
flicks to know that certain flicks were among the very worst films?
No,of course not! Just as if we talked about the best movies of the decade.
Few of us have seen ALL the good films of the last decade.
Dear pbrandel_007
I addressed my rant towards jakkfrost and his retarded egocentric comments. (although I could have made that more clear..)
I have nothing against the purpose of the thread itself.
Sincerely yours,
Selfish
What the hell. It's not a good movie, but it's far from being the worst.
Rotten Tomatoes sucks as much as all those wannabe-elitist people who praise garbage and can't recognize an actual awful movie when they see one.

Rotten Tomatoes is a cumulator site - it simply calculates the percentage of positive (Fresh) reviews given a movie by professional reviewers. Ballistic received 0% Fresh reviews. No pro liked it. There were 13 other movies on the list with 0% Fresh reviews.
Knocking RT for getting it wrong ignores the fact that this is a consensus site. No single reviewer is making this decision - every pro review was negative. All RT is doing is reporting that fact.
I GOTTA see it now.
