So how are things in Baltimore these days?

Living in Norway and watching The Wire I could never have imagined the poverty and challenges the citizens of Baltimore had to endure on a daily basis. Especially the black kids I felt real sorry for, almost like growing up in a third world country.

So Im wondering, have things gotten better for the people of Baltimore the last ten years, or is the situation the same as the show portrayed?

good question, I'm kind of curious about this myself because let's face it, the wire was 20 years ago and the true stories that inspired it were from 40 years ago.

I'd like to think that baltimore is a more prosperous place these days but I'm a realist, so I reckon it's probably still a ghetto shithole but has changed with the times so that instead of beefing on the corner they're beefing on facebook :D
