"You got to. This is America man."

"Shhhhheeeeeeeeeeiiiiiiiiitttttt" (Wasn't an opening quote, but it's my favorite!)

You Come at the King, You best not miss.

Omar was the King. That was a great quote in the opening. Kudos

Yeah, I'd say out of all the characters Omar was the one who went as far as he could without betraying his friends or compromising his personal beliefs. Not an easy thing to accomplish in that landscape. He definitely deserves the utmost respect for that.

"I had such *beep* hopes for us" - McNulty

And he delivers it greatly to Stringer in the episode

The opening quotes are called "epigraphs" for anybody that cares. Oh and the best one and most important one is:

"... and all the pieces matter." - Freamon

The world is a smaller place now - The Greek. I can't recall when it is said in the series, but seeing it in writing was awesome

reply

the Greek's quote is said when he's dismantling his operation in Baltimore. "They only know me as the Greek...and I'm not even Greek..." - he was the most sucessful guy in the series. just racking up money with a low profile and no one had even a clue who he was.

all the epigraphs are great. I love Poot's "World goin' one way...people another"

It may be not the best and definitely been said a lot throughout the show but I was really dumbfounded when the quoted here was Omar

All in the game. - Traditional West Baltimore

"If I hear the music, I'm gonna dance." - Greggs
