People still think Mike killed Bodie?
I don't understand, because it was obvious who did it and why it couldn't be Mike in the first place.

That's what I said,it wasn't him.
shareI meant it wasn't obvious...
shareIn a earlier scene that episode, Chris n Marlo said Mike's first kill should be someone he didn't know.It don't get more clear than that lol
shareThey just talked about it. No one said yes one or the other with words. You as a viewer are left to read their gestures and body language towards each other. Plus it not like Marlo can't change his mind. The second I see Bodie get shot without seeing the shooter, the first thought in my head was that was Mike. I figured it out eventually but it wasn't that obvious. The fact that you started the thread on a very old topic that been talked to death means it wasn't that obvious.
shareAll I'm saying is Marlo & Chris agreed that Mike's first kill would be someone he didn't know...Marlo usually never changes his mind, after him and Chris agreed..That's why it's obvious to me,just my opinion.
shareso in all honesty, when Bodie was shot you never for a second thought it was Mike?
shareWhen I first saw it, I thought it looked like Mike shooting and thought "did they change their mind about who did the hit?" because earlier they said it should not be Mike.
Then Marlo later on asks Michael if he was "ready to put in work" so I figured it wasn't Mike since he would not need to ask that question if Mike had just committed a murder for him.
The audio commentary makes it very clear.

It did show who shot Bodie though, don't remember his name it's the baby-faced dude who got shot in the leg in the shootout where Omar jumped off a balcony.
sharePeople saying the first thing someone should do is a conversation about the ideal way things should play. It would be ideal if all Mexicans respected the US border. I said to somebody that everybody should stop taking narcotics and heal the world and guess what, it doesn't mean anybody is going to give up narcotics. It would be ideal though. We all say to others a few times a week that somebody should do something, it doesn't mean they do or will.
Not only does Marlo and Chris' conversation mean nothing, I don't recall Mike hearing it and even if he did, Mike ALWAYS did what Mike wanted to do. What better way is there to prove to Chris and Marlo he has stepped up and become an ice cold killer than taking out somebody very close to him - Bodie, a Barksdale Lieutenant?
The Wire is supposed to be watched with you there in the story, seeing everything, reading between linesm hearing what all say, smelling the decay around you, feeling the danger everybody on screen deals with their own way. Put yourself in Mike's shoes, what would you do to fast track up the ranks? No G-Man is more respected and feared than the enforcers like Chris AND Mike gets a chance of getting closer to being one with one shot. C'mon, get real. Look how many years it took Bodie to rise and Mike rose higher in under a year.
I thought it was Michael the first time I watched the series, but having just finished the series I realized the shooter that killed Bodie was that kid who had the limp that Snoop and Chris wanted to take that 3 year charge for Marlo. I think it was the same kid that use to take care of Marlo's bird coop too
shareIt was Mike.
shareNo it wasn't. I rewound that scene several times...It was 0-Dog. He has a longer jaw line than Mike.

Gemma is just messing around with some posters.
shareO-Dog was the one who shot him, not Mike. Pretty obvious when you look closer at the face and also consider that Chris said earlier that Mike's first body shouldn't be someone he knew.
Mike's first body was the guy he shot and killed at the end in one of the final scenes of Season 4.
