Connections to Luke Cage

Without the obvious naming of actors who have been in both series, what other connections have you seen:

There was one scene where Luke Cage was naming writers such as Richard Price, George Pelacanos, and Dennis Lehane who have all served as writers on The Wire.

To crush your enemies, see them driven before you, and to hear the lamentation of their women.

Turk Barrett lifts a line straight from The Wire. Its not the same but I instantly knew where that line was from.

On Luke Cage Turk tells Cottonmouth this after he's see's him throw one of his workers on off the roof.
Y'all Harlem *beep* off the hook. I'm going back to Hell's kitchen where its safe."

Not the same but close enough for me to realize it. But remember the scence when Stringer Bells pays off the guy that had Dangelo killed and he says to Stringer:
"Baltimore *beep* off the hook. I swear. All y'all."

They used Bubbles' actor in Agent Carter as well, he played some High-Class Club Owner/Crime Boss I think.

reply

I hope your're not saying he was in Luke Cage too because he wasn't. Andre Royo is the actor that Bubbles. Alot of people have been getting him mixed up with Ron Cephas Jones because they look like they could brothers. But Ron Cephas Jones is in Luke Cage but not Andre Royo.

reply

I was talking about Agent Carter. He was in the first season

reply

ok but this is a thread about Luke Cage. Is there a connection to Agent Carter somewhere that I'm missing?

The MCU using Wire actors? I figured all their appearances were fair game.

reply

oh ok, now we're on the same page.

reply

I always thought Ron Cephas Jones looked like a much older Raphael Saadiq from Toni Tony Tone.

Clark Johnson directed an episode of Luke Cage, he appeared in and directed for The Wire.

Method Man plays himself in an episode of Luke Cage and performs a song for it, he was in The Wire as Melvin.

After the barber shop shoot up. The 2 detectives are drinking Jameson whiskey which is what Bunk and McNulty always drank

reply

That part was ridiculous and obvious. Black women don't drink that sh!t.
