I sometimes have trouble keeping up with the storyline so please forgive me if this is obvious or if it's something that I missed but towards the end Avon gets arrested along with Wee Bey. Stringer also thinks he's going to get arrested but McNulty says "see you later" and walks Avon out in cuffs. Why didn't they also arrest Stringer? What did they have on Avon that they didn't have on Stringer? Also, why did Poot get arrested and not Bodie?
They had no evidence on Stringer. He could've been arrested if Wallace was able to testify about Brandon's murder. But due to Wallace being killed, Stringer was in the clear. Avon was arrested because they bugged the office in the strip club and had him on video giving orders to D Angelo to go pick up drugs from New York.
And I don't believe Poot was arrested. You must have him mistaken him with someone else. I suggest you rewatch because you'll learn something new every time you rewatch.
Poot was definitely arrested. I don't know if it was season 1 or not but I do remember an episode where he and Avon were both in court and he had on an orange jumpsuit. Also in season 4, after he got out, he met up with Bodie on the corner and Bodie introduced him to Lil Kevin. Remember, Kevin asked Poot if he had had sex since he got out and Poot responded with "I think I'm already burnt".
Something else I noticed...WeeBey went to Philly to hide out but then we see the Baltimore team (Carver, Herc, Mcnulty an Freeman) arrest him in front of his home. How could they do that? They're not FBI agents. As Baltimore police they don't have any rights to go all the way to Philly arresting people. In a case like that, they would likely put in a call to Philly police or even FBI to arrest WeeBye instead of taking it upon themselves to drive all the way over stateliness to make an arrest.
You are correct about Poot. He was arrested at the end of season 3. Your topic was a question about season 1 though.
And the Philadelphia police did arrest Wee Bey. If you watch the scene again. The BPD had the right to be there on the scene because they had a "flight warrant" on Wee Bey. He had a warrant out of Baltimore for the shooting of a police officer. However the Philly police department are the ones who made the actual arrest most likely booked him into jail and did all the processing and paperwork.
And to answer your question on why Poot got arrested and not Bodie. Poot was on the network of throwaway cell phones used for drug trafficking which the BPD had wire taps on. Bodie was on the network also but due to Colvins Hamsterdam, Bodie claimed entrapment which is illegal for police officers to do.
