Of all the superb shows that have been made, “The Wire” is worthy of that title. I won’t say it is definitively the greatest, but I understand why it’s consistently referred to as this century’s best.

As for the aforementioned Twilight Zone, it’s a whole different beast (and far from perfect). Seems useless to compare it to any crime show.

Omar is far and away my favorite character of any tv show ever. But as a tv series, I think Sopranos is #1 and The Wire is #2.. but it's more like 1 and 1a. Breaking Bad would be my #2 (or #3).

I'm going to start watching this series tonight. Have been looking forward to it ever since I learn of its existence.

I just noticed it On Demand. I'm surprised I don't recognize more names other than Idris Elba.
It looks like a product of it's time. Not in a bad way. Kind of like watching Hill Street Blues or Miami Vice today.
I find that Chicago PD has a brightness while the few minutes I'm watching the Wire, the color seems a little muted.
