uk viewers, was it all scripted?

saw the last two episodes last nite, was the whole series scripted or just the last one where jack 'kills' the dog, sharon leaves and ozzys disraught, it threw me, i thought jack was acting but when ozzy so convincingly cried when he told sharon, i wasnt sure what was happening! then it showed ozzy trying to get his lines right when he says something like 'i love you all but you're f****** mad' if it was a reality show then why did he have to do the scene over and over till he got it right?

theres a place in france, where the naked monkeys dance...

I heaitated saying anything, cause I've just started watching (and loving) the show- I have no idea whether it was supposed to be an end of season joke, or what. Any help would be appreciated.

I think that was the end of show gag. The whole dead dog skit. Are you all too young to remember the end of each Moonlighting season where they took down the set in front of the cameras?

Anyone with the DVDs would probably see the multiple takes were done after the famous original.

actually, I am. I've never even heard of moonlighting. well, I kind of guessed as much. The only thing I was unsure of was whether it was the entire episode that was a skit, or what. I guess I see now.

if you watch that last episode on dvd with the commentary on, sharon and jack will explain how they acted out that skit where he "kills" minnie just as a joke to all of the people who said the whole show was scripted.
