I never seen this movie yet and I heard good and bad things from it and if anybody can tell me if this movie is worth buying when it comes out next week on August 5 please tell me it would help me a lot thanks.

shareDon't see this movie, I went to go see it with my aunt when it first came out and it was not funny at all. It was stupid, it just a bunch of white people trying to act black. When I went to go see it at the show on its opening weekend, the people in the theator who went to go see this movie were dead silent, no one laughed not even a smile on there face. so dont see this movie please.

I would not buy it. If you liked any of Steve Martin's Best Early work, then I would not recommend it. It is just another "whitey is dumb,old and awkward" and has to be shown that black ghetto stereotype behaviour is cool,hip and "in". Then theres that scene where queen latifah drops the ebonics for a second to prove she can speak proper english, only proving you can "choose" to act ignorant even as an adult. Probably the same crowd that likes "beverly hills most wanted" would like it, I never saw that movie, thank god.

I recommend it. It's very funny! Although not everyone has the same taste as me, so rent it, watch it, if you like it buy it. I am going to. :)

Well all I can say is just try it. No he is not very black people oriented but that is the point of the show. To me it made it more funny. Btw he said "I got it from yo momma" He did look and sound rediculus (kinda like my spelling). There are a couple cheesy scenes, but all in all if you want to see a good funny movie without nitpicking it you should enjoy it.

The movie is really funny, but the DVD is a disappointment. Try reading the L.A. Times. They have DVD reviews. From their point of view, they said the gag reel was very slick, yet overall, the DVD was bad.
Bottom line: Buy the DVD only if you really, really liked the movie, but if you thought it was just a 5/10, don't buy it.

I just bought the DVD today. I love this movie, but people have different taste in movies. but if i were you i would buy it.
