Blaxploitation
Fred Williamson, Pam Grier, Richard Roundtree, etc had to blaxploitation films back in the 70s because they had no other choice if they were going to get into the theaters. But, it's the 21st century now, black actors and actresses not only have a foot in the door, they've kicked it open. The days of playing, gangsters, pimps, hoes, drug addicts/dealers, shiftless layabouts and other negative stereotypes are over. And then "Bringin' Down the House" comes out and you have to wonder, WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON?
I'll be saving my consumer dollar to go rent Bamboozled or something.
