I noticed it when Charlene slept over the first night, it was hanging in the laundry room. Then, of course, she wore it when Steve Martin had her act like a maid. What was the explanation for it?? I mean, it doesn't really make any sense why he would just happen to have a pink maid/waitress outfit lying around.
shareGood question, especially since -- unless Charlene brought it herself, which makes no sense -- he wouldn't have clothes that would fit Charlene lying around. (His ex-wife and daughter are both rail skinny.)

If you watch the deleted scenes there is a scene where he is talking to his overweight hispanic maid who is wearing the outfit. That explains where he got it, but unless you see the deleted scene, you won't understand that he has a maid......

It seems they should've kept some deleted scenes. In another thread, someone else said that in another deleted scene, Charlene is shown shopping around, which explains why she suddenly had several changes of clothing, while staying at Pete's place.
