She's thirteen years old!!!!

Casino will scar her for life.

(I still remember the scene in the cornfield and Joe Pesci sees......... I am not going to ruin that.)

But if your thirteen and never seen an a violent/action movie avoid Casino.... In fact avoid Scorsese's movies until you know you like action movies....They can and will scar you.

Thanks.

Peace out.

They may be kidding but it isnt exactly funny.

Come one people shes only 13 years old.
How about not trying to be big and clever on these boards and actually answer a question properly instead.

Why dont you try watching something like Legally Bonde?

reply

I watched Pulp Fiction, The Shining and 48 Hrs. when I was her age.

reply

Spuddy, I agree, people try so hard to get attention.

To answer your question, Sim, I agree with Spuddy. Legally Blonde is a great one. Tank Girl is a bit violent but a superb "girl power" movie since the ladies are as tough as the men but still manage to look like women!

reply

I saw "Taxi Driver", "Usual Suspects", "Fargo", "Dogma", "Se7en" when I was 13-early 14. You know, not all 13 year-olds would stick a guy in a woodchipper if they saw it in "Fargo".

reply

thats not the point.
these films are not made for people as young as 13-14.

Whilst i do not agree with censorship at all, i completely agree with the film calssification system we have over here it the UK (with the exeption of the 12A certificate).
Not like the pointless mpaa system that says as long as a child is with someone over 17, they can see any film they like. How can this work? Is a film any different depending upon who you see it with?

Some films are quite clearly made for adults and should only be viewed by adults.
Say the original poster went and watched "I spit on your grave". At her age most teenagers are going through the puberty stage and i am sure that that film would probably warp there views on sex somewhat.

And you cant say that just becasue all kids wouldnt be badly affected becasue one kid is enough. Maybe this is the reason why some of America's youth are taking guns to school and killing their classmates and teachers in cold blood.

Enough. its too early in the morning to get into a censoship debate.

nice addition with "I Spit On Your Grave". She should at least give it a chance! Dead Alive would be a pretty good one. Sleepaway Camp could do wonders too, I'm still scarred from that one!

reply

A Clockwork Orange can do wonders, as well.

Didn't affect me when I saw it (when I was her age). Why? Because I've BEEN scarred.

reply

You forgot Last House on the Left and all of the George Romero films. Those are classics...and great for the kiddies.

reply

Hard not being scarred by last house on the left. One of the more explicite movies that are better aired late night; But they didn't, it was aired in primetime last month :)

reply

Check out The Evil Dead, Dawn of the Dead, Day of the Dead, Re-Animator, Any Lucio Fulci or Dario Argento film, Braindead/Dead Alive, Bad Taste, Salo 120 Days of Sodom perfect for the kiddies , All the Friday the 13th, Nightmare on Elm Street and Hellraiser series, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Irreversible, Boise Moi, Ken Park, Cannibal Holocaust and Ferox, Caligula, Ichi the Killer and tons more. These will make any kid grow up to have a happy and productive life.

reply

Salo is just great for kiddies, all those nice themes: torture, eating *beep*, sex...
But you have to love the language, very stilish italian.

reply
