Wow, I had to see this for myself. I was just watching it on DVD, which does definitely have the Geraldo Rivera line, and while I was watching it I thought something was a little off. He makes a little bit of a pause before he actually says the name and when he does his head is lowered in such a way that you can't quite see his lips move. Still a funny line though.
But I just checked the version on Netflix, and damn, it's changed to "My father!" So weird!
The best I can figure is that maybe the line was intentionally left open to fit any name that they may have found to be the best joke. It's possible that "My father" was the original line and they ADR'd Geradlo's name later because it was funnier...and maybe somewhere down the line other names were tested to see what was funniest.
So maybe when Netflix acquired the license to stream the movie they accidentally got a different version, or even just a different audio track. I mean, it wouldn't be the first time Netflix screwed up an audio track, that's for sure. So there's that possibility. I don't think it necessarily has anything to do with anything specific to Geraldo Rivera or him suing or being offended, or anything like that.
Did you notice any other changes/different lines??
