College degree vs stable secure government job

The envy factor has changed today compared to the 1970's-80's.

With the number of people with college degrees not being able to obtain the 'Yuppie job' and saddled in student debt...Harvey's position as a lowly file clerk looks more attractive.

I wonder if Harvey would have had less class resentment today and been more content with his stable government job? And if so, would this have dampend his creative endevors?

@tricksoftrade01 Well it's 2015 and I'm still hearing pundits and politicians talking about "the politics of envy."

So I think Harvey would've had as much class resentment today as before. All he'd have to do is turn on a radio or TV to be reminded of it.
