What is your favorite comic

My all time favorite comics are NausicaƤ of the Valley of the Wind, Tezuka's Buddha and The Invisibles. American Splendor is also a brilliant one, I like underground comics a lot.
But What are your favorite comics ?

I love American Splendor, but my absolute favorite comic series of all time is The Sandman. I'm also into the work of Daniel Clowes...(Ghost World and David Boring are a couple of his more accessible titles) Have you checked out some of Scott McCloud's stuff? His book, Understanding Comics is wonderful.

She's addicted to nicotine patches, she's afraid of a light in the dark...

Cerebus by Dave Sim (controversial and complicated biography of an aardvark)
Bone by Jeff Smith (great humorous fantasy)
The Maxx (the only good thing to come out of Image Comics as far as I know)
From Hell by Alan Moore and Eddie Campbell (disturbing and mindblowing)
Watchmen by Alan Moore and whatshisname (super-heroes deconstructed)
Carl Barks's Duck-comics
Peanuts by Charles M. Schulz

non-fiction: Understanding Comics by Scott McCloud

and some several European comics

Sorry to say I'm not so much into American comics. I do like Transmetropolitan a lot, though. I've been thinking of checking out American Splendor. I just saw the movie and it was pretty good.

I haven't collected comics in about 6 odd years, but this brings back some memories:

The Watchmen
Batman: The Dark Knight Returns
Batman: Year One
Mark Waid's version of the Flash
Peter David's version of Aquaman
Peter David's version of the Hulk
the Chris Claremont/John Byrne issues of Uncanny X-Men
Gerry Conway's Web of Spider-Man
The Sandman (Neil Gaiman's of course)
any issues of X-Men drawn by Jim Lee
the Weapon X series in Marvel Tales or whatever it was called
The Ray (mid-90's DC comic; I forgot who worked on it)
Gerard Jones' (was that his name?) issues of the Green Lantern
Alan Moore's Swamp Thing before it went Vertigo
the Kingdom Come mini-series by Mark Waid and Alex Ross
Legion of Super-Heroes from the pre-Zero Hour series
Crisis on Infinite Earths
Zero Hour
Mark Waid's version of Captain America
John Byrne issues of Wonder Woman
the Clone War issues of Spider-Man (I think I was the only one who liked it)
any Spider-Man or Spawn comic drawn by Todd McFarlane

Damn, I can't believe I remembered all that. Now I remember how I couldn't afford to collect any more.

Everyone who likes American Splendor should give Duplex Planet a try.

Cages by Dave McKean
Acme Novelty Library by Chris Ware
Black Hole by Charles Burns (plus his collected shorts)
Meat Cake by Dame Darcy
anything by Daniel Clowes (Ghost World, etc., but I still prefer his early works in Blab! and Eightball)
most non-commercial stuff by Grant Morrison (The Invisibles, Mystery Play, St. Swithin's Day, The Filth, Doom Patrol, Flex Mentallo)
most by Alan Moore, especially Watchmen, From Hell, Promethea and his artsy one-shots with Eddie Campbell (please stop making terrible movie adaptations!!!)
Shade, the Changing Man by Pete Milligan
Richard Sala's short stories, but not his longer works
anything by Al Colombia (too bad his insanity gets in the way of his output)
Hey Mister
Angry Youth Comix
Neil Gaiman when he isn't, e.g., whoring himself out to Image (Sandman is good but Mr. Punch and Signal to Noise are both better)
both Moonshadow and Blood: A Tale by J.M. DeMatteis

Cherry Poptart or Eightball.
