I'm sure this has been asked 100x but

Me and this guy at school were talking about clone high and debating why it was canceled. He said its because one of the writers/ voice actors died and I said it was because of the reaction to Gandhi in India. Can anyone settle this argument for us?

MTV Executives were at MTV India when a handful of protesters were outside the building protesting just the fact that there was a portrayal of Gandhi, in both Clone High and some other show, and the executives did not approve of bad PR, so they put an end to showing one of the best shows of all time, just because of a couple people who could not take a joke.

Thats what I thought. Thanks

The real reason was simply that MTV didn't think it got the ratings they wanted. If MTV had wanted a second season they simply would have had Ghandi written out.

Yeah, the Ghandi thing probably made it easier to cancel but ratings were the real reason it got axed. Punk'd filled their time slot when the show finished up it's season and Punk'd was such a ratings monster MTV didn't buy another season of Clone High. Cartoons are astronomically more expensive to produce than some dumbass hidden camera show.
