Anyone else think the whomping willow scene was unnecessary?
Harry and Hermione could have used their wands to stop the tree and Hermione knew the immobulus spell. They should have at least had it where they dropped their wands or something.
sharesince Dumbledore had the tree planted to prevent other wizards from stumbling upon Lupin in the Shrieking Shack, I'd have to assume it was immune or at least resistant to magical spells.
